My previous post last Thursday afternoon stated that the final book in the tremendously popular Harry Potter series was due for release in 36 hours. Now that every fan has had a chance to get their hands a copy, as well as crack upon the coveted book (if not finish it!) the final total has been tailed!
According to many online sources, such as BBC News, the final total of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" sold is approximately 11 million copies!!!!!! And that's only in the first 24 hours!!!!!! The U.S. accounts for 8.3 million, while the U.K. accounts for the other 2.7 million. What was the previous record set? Of course, it's Harry Potter's sixth adventure, which apparently sold 9 million in its first day.
Congratulations to J.K. Rowling for this unbelievable series she has given us, as well as for her incredible success!
For those who haven't collected the series yet, I'll be one of the many people to get the box set in a collector's item box perfect for storing your Harry Potter books!! Check them out at Amazon and Wal-mart! (Not available until 9/18/07).
